Mr. and Mrs. Bill built a special house for their son in their spare time
Mr. and Mrs. Bill's oldest son is very fond of collecting all kinds of artifacts, and now they have walls full of artifacts in their house. These artifacts are valuable and Mr. and Mrs. Bill are worried that their soon-to-be-born child will touch these artifacts and break them, so they decided to build a house dedicated to the collection of these artifacts for their oldest son.
After doing some research, Mr. and Mrs. Bill decided they needed a sawmill to complete their plan!
The spruce they obtained from local forests was used in almost every construction of the house. “We use the spruce for cabin framing, flooring, and interior cabinets. We used spruce for everything, even the small deck and building the windows,” says Bill.
Throughout the build, Bill and his son learned to operate the JR59 sawmill. The simplicity of the machine allowed their son to gain his first cutting experience as well as learn how to cut joinery and build timber frames. His son thought it was incredible.
“We process wood on the JR59. He could pinpoint exactly how thick we needed the planks to be. We finished it together,” says Bill, ”The project took less time than expected, and once it was finished, we could start using it with confidence.”
“We feel very fortunate to be able to do work like this in our free time. Creating something from scratch is something that only a small percentage of people can do. The simplicity and efficiency of our JR59 sawmill made this project so much easier,” the Bills share.
However, now that this house of love is complete, the couple has made it clear that they intend to continue their sawmill journey.
